Top Powerful Cars In The World

McLaren Senna -- 789bhp, n/a miles

Are you accustomed to the looks yet? Us neither. And the title? Hmm... perhaps we'd better focus on the specs, and that's where the brutal-looking Senna earns its keep. McLaren's new Ultimate Series machine develops 789bhp from its 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8, without a hybrid motor in sight. McLaren hasn't revealed top speed figures yet, but as this is a craft built to warp around monitors, we're expecting a headline v-max to be forfeited in the name of lap-time heroics.

Koenigsegg Agera RS -- 1,340bhp, 277mph

It's not annually -- believe it or not -- that you get a fresh fastest car in the world. Many talk the talk, but few really set off in a straight line with timing cameras and gear on board to have the challenge. This year, Koenigsegg did just that on a closed road in Nevada, also averaged out 277mph from the procedure.

BMW M760Li -- 602bhp, 155mph

This unassuming pluto-barge is, in fact, the most effective, fastest road-going BMW ever made. It's not a legitimate M car, however, the bi-turbo V12 that lurks from the bloated nostrils of the supreme 7 Series is a true monster among motors. It develops 602bhp, and thanks to xDrive 4x4 delivering the grip, it can start from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds. So it's faster than the i8, quicker than an M3, and up before the new M5 has been revealed, was unassailable in the BMW range for pace. It's not so much a flagship for a destroyer.

Porsche 911 GT2 RS -- 691bhp, 211mph

We waited quite a while for Porsche to flip the 991-generation of 911 to a 'widowmaker'. After the 691bhp GT2 RS arrived, and we drove it, the most shocking thing was how habitable and un-terrifying it was. That's modern tyres and aerodynamics for you. And as a result, the GT2 RS blitzed around the Nrburgring in a new record time of 6mins 43.7sec. Notice: to replicate this time you need to be as handy and courageous as an true professional racing driver.

Hennessey Exorcist -- 1,000bhp, n/a miles

Of course, Texan horsepower fetishist John Hennessey couldn't allow Dodge like the spoils of war for long without issuing his own unleaded-swilling riposte -- with a cheeky title to boot. The Exorcist is, as you can see, based on a Camaro ZL1 (or the more monitor focused 1LE, should you want ), and, ahem, trumps the Dodge option by creating 1,000bhp. The top speed is so much unknown, but as the 0-60mph period is sub 3sec, we believe that you 'll agree it deserves a place among 2017's most unhinged performance cars.
